Walking and cycling paths stretch in all directions, leading to nearby villages and many viewpoints on the edge of the Karst plateau

Since the village is less than half an hour from the sea or the Soča River valley, it is an excellent starting point for those interested in outdoor activities in the alpine world.

The most attractive places for outdoor climbing are on the Italian side, above the Adriatic coast, about half an hour away by car.

Goriška Brda are also nearby.Head to Brda for wine tasting or just for a trip to the so-called Slovenian Tuscany.

A few suggestions for trips, with driving times:

Devin (castle, Rilke’s path) – 20 min;

Miramare Castle – 35 min;

Škocjan Caves – 45 min

Venice: the most affordable way is by train from Monfalcone to Venice (20 min to the train station)
